Man United has announced the official number of next season, in which rookie Daniel James will take over the number 21 that Ander Herrera left.

James wore number 20 on former Swansea team but the jerseys were owned by goalkeeper Sergio Romero. He has two other options: 19 and 25 but eventually agrees to return Herrera's 21 number - the player broke up Man Utd after the previous season.
In fact, number 21 doesn't have too much special meaning at Old Trafford with former wearers Diego Forlan, Henning Berg and Rafael da Silva. Even Dong Fangzhou and Pat McGibbon wore this number.
However, the fact that James chose number 21 as a Man Utd fan remembers an old story. That's when Robin van Perise moved from Arsenal, he picked the number 20 and at the end of the season, Man Utd won the 20th British league title in history.
Many fans of Man Utd hope history will repeat and this time will be the 21st title with James. At this point, aside from James, the Red Devils have only brought in another rookie, Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace.
